The Sanctuary of the Sacred Heart of Jesus solemnly marked Palm Sunday, ushering in the beginning of Holy Week with deep reverence and devotion. The celebration began at the Rotonda, where the faithful gathered for the blessing of palms. This significant rite commemorates the triumphant entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem, with the blessed palms serving as a visible sign of faith and commitment among the congregation.

Following the blessing, a prayerful procession took place, as the community journeyed together in reflection, recalling Christ’s path toward His passion. The faithful participated with solemnity, creating a unified expression of devotion that set the tone for the sacred observance of Holy Week.

The celebration continued with the Holy Mass, presided over by Rev. Fr. Stephen Gonzales, OSJ, Sanctuary Priest Moderator. In his homily, he encouraged the faithful to look beyond the joyful acclamation of Palm Sunday and to embrace its deeper meaning—walking with Christ not only in moments of praise, but also through His suffering, death, and eventual resurrection.

Overall, the Palm Sunday celebration at the Sanctuary became a profound manifestation of faith, unity, and spiritual preparation, inviting the faithful to enter more deeply into the mysteries of Holy Week.
