FEAST OF THE SACRED HEART OF JESUS
The Sanctuary of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Pueblo de Panay joyfully celebrated the Feast of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus with a meaningful gathering filled with faith, devotion, and community participation. On June 26, 2025, the celebration began with a solemn procession at 4:30 PM, where parishioners, religious groups, and devotees walked in prayerful reverence, honoring the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The procession was a moving expression of collective faith, as the faithful offered prayers, songs, and intentions throughout the sacred walk. This was followed by the Vesper Mass at 5:15 PM, which served as a spiritual preparation for the main feast. The liturgy was celebrated with deep solemnity, uniting the faithful in prayer and thanksgiving. The sanctuary was filled with a peaceful and reflective atmosphere, drawing hearts closer to the love and mercy of Christ. The highlight of the celebration took place on June 27, the Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. A significant number of devotees gathered at the sanctuary to attend the Pontifical Mass presided over by Most Rev. Victor B. Bendico, D.D., Archbishop of Capiz. The presence of the Archbishop added great spiritual significance to the occasion, making the feast day even more memorable for the faithful. In his homily, the Archbishop reflected on the infinite love, mercy, and compassion of Christ, symbolized by His Sacred Heart—a love that continues to embrace and sustain the Church today. The celebration was marked by sacred music, heartfelt prayers, and a deeply reverent atmosphere that touched the hearts of those present. Every part of the liturgy invited the faithful to reflect more deeply on their personal relationship with Christ and to live out His love in their daily lives. The occasion served as a profound reminder of the living presence of Christ in our midst, and of the enduring value of faith, unity, and devotion within the community.
